- to help improve the image and quality of bus services in and around Edinburgh.

3. System Size.

- covers Lothian Bus network of 2500 stops (approx)

- over 450 Lothian Buses equipped (May 2008)

- full-fleet coverage in 2009 (approx 650 buses)

- over 300 real-time signs (May 2008)

- includes web and wap services

4. System Overview

- buses are tracked on-street using GPS

- buses communicate over a private voice and data radio network

- the system predicts when they will arrive at bus stops

- real-time info is relayed to signs, the web and mobiles

- BusTracker includes fleet management tools to monitor and manage bus services in real-time.
